Respiratory Protection I Protection from Silicosis
Protect yourself!
uvex respirators can be used in the following applications where there is a potential for silica exposure:
What is Silicosis?
Silicosis is a fatal lung disease caused by breathing silica dust particles which causes scar tissue to form in the lungs preventing the lungs from being able to extract oxygen from the air.
There is no cure for Silicosis, and treatment options are limited.
Silicosis can make an individual susceptible to bacterial or fungal infections. It can also lead to other respiratory diseases such as lung cancer and turberculosis (TB).
Prevention is the only option!
uvex respirators are single filtering devices that offer respiratory protection with high comfort and low breathing resistance. The masks are also adjustable, lightweight and individually wrapped for hygienic purposes.
For a tight fit and effective protection it is highly recommended that users not have facial hair. uvex respirators conform to EN149: 2001 standards, SABS standard and is homologated.
For respiratory protection from Silicosis use FFP3 respirators
