As an innovative brand system provider with manufacturing expertise, we aim to offer our customers the best products for a wide range of workplace requirements. To achieve this goal, our uvex safety eyewear offers maximum wearer comfort, 100% UV400 protection and unique coating technology. At our main R&D and production facilities in Fürth, Germany, our experts proudly lead in the field of eye protection, from the plastic frame to the coated lens. The development of the right lens coating is essential when producing eye protection that is suitable for almost all workplace applications.

Finding the right coating

Special working conditions also require special coatings for the lenses of safety eyewear.

The adjacent video demonstrates how to determine which uvex supravision Core Coating is right for you.

The decisive parameters for choosing the right coating are the prevailing temperature, humidity and level of contamination at the workplace.

Which lens coating for uvex safety glasses do I need? (English)

uvex supravision

The innovative uvex supravision technology is our core competency when it comes to eye protection. This type of coating allows the lens to be coated differently on both sides. For example, the inside of the lens can be coated with a durable anti-fog coating and the outside of the lens, which is susceptible to dirt and scratches, can be coated with an extremely scratch-resistant coating. In addition, the outside of the lens on our safety eyewear is chemical-resistant and easy-to-clean, offering an extremely long service life.

uvex WEARABILITY - The key to compliance

Innovative features for improved comfort and protection

90% of eye injuries can be avoided with proper eyewear

Simply wearing any old pair of safety eyewear isn't enough to protect your eyes. Undoubtedly it decreases the possibility of an injury, but if you have poorly fitted eyewear you are putting yourself at a higher risk. Did you know 2,500 people injure their eyes at work each year in the UK? Don't become a statistic - it's all about proper WEARABILITY.

At uvex we understand that one size doesn't fit all and is committed to the design and production of product solutions that can be tailored to individual requirements delivering consistency of protection and performance levels. We offer a range of safety eyewear to suit all facial shapes and areas of application whether working in confined spaces or out on a construction site.

Technologies

Nothing is more important than the safety of people in their day-to-day work! This is why we at uvex are constantly developing our products based on pioneering technologies. The objective: Combining protection, wearer comfort and relief in every product in the best possible way.

uvex UV400

100% UV protection. 100% safety. 100% uvex.

The EN166/170 standard requires safety eyewear to provide UV protection up to 380mn. The latest scientific findings show that this is not enough. The WHO (World Health Organization) recommends UV protection up to 400nm.

‘’The reasons why the WHO recommends UV400 protection are clear. The outer tissues of the eye, cornea and lens fully absorb UV light. While UVB light primarily damages the genetic material, UVA rays penetrate deeper, cause thermal damage, and magnify the effects of UVB light.’’

uvex UV400 – included in all uvex safety eyewear.

uvex CBR65. uvex CBR23 - Focus on fatigue-free, relaxed vision.

Preventive protection against blue light.

The properties of the uvex CBR65 and CBR23 lens technology are significantly different to those of uvex UV400. They filter high-energy visible light (HEV) – which causes particular strain on the retina in the range from 380 nm to 450 nm – by up to 50 or 95%.

Strain on the eye caused by blue light has increased enormously as a result of intensive use of electronic devices (PC’s, smartphones, tablets, LED TV’s etc.) and the switch from incandescent light bulbs to LEDs. The short-term effects of this include eye strain, headaches and poor concentration, while in the long terms there is an increased risk of age-related macular degeneration. uvex CBR65 and CBR23 reliably protect the eye against health risks without disrupting the body’s internal clock.

Contrast

Contrast enhancement
Better contrast for clearer vision helping to reduce strain on the eyes – even in diffused light.

Bluelight reduction

Bluelight reduction
Blue light is reduced by up to 50 or 95%.

Relaxed vision

Relaxed vision
Ideal for high-concentration work; the eyes get less tired even when working for longer periods

65% transmission

Slight tint
Ideal for use both indoors and outdoors. Ideal for working in bright LED lights, for example.

23% transmission

Optimal protection against glare
Especially for working outdoors.

A new generation of welding protection eyewear

Unlike traditional green welding tint products, the innovative technology behind the uvex grey-tint lenses affords protection from UV and infrared light while maintaining perfect colour recognition in accordance with uvex sun glare filters. This range is also the first to feature anti-fog lens coating technology.

The special uvex infradur plus coating has anti-fog properties which prevents the inside of the lenses misting up and the extreme scratch-resistance on the outside keeps damage from welding sparks to an absolute minimum.

Features
  • Permanent uvex infradur plus lens coating - anti-fog properties prevent the inside of the lens misting up and the extreme scratch-resistance on the outside keeps damage from welding sparks to an absolute minimum.
  • The uvex grey welding tint offers increased impact protection over traditional green welding products. The green tint can weaken the mechanical strength of the lens.
  • Perfect colour recognition in line with uvex sun glare filters - safety signs and signals are easily recognised, increasing employee safety.
  • Available in various protection classes (EN166 1 F for specs and EN166 1 B for goggles) offering protection for a variety of welding applications and environments.
  • Goggles can be worn comfortably over most prescription specs.

uvex IR-ex

Infrared protection eyewear with grey tint

The eye is much more sensitive to infrared radiation than our skin. Where our skin still perceives heat radiation as acceptable or even pleasant, our eye may already be suffering initial damage from continuous exposure. The innovative uvex IR-ex safety spectacles technology provides reliable protection and ensures flawless visibility.

uvex is the first company to use grey-tinted lenses in its infrared safety spectacles, allowing coloured signal or warning lights to be easily recognised.
