Infrared protection with a grey tint

Fuerth - Infrared radiation can cause serious damage to the human eye. uvex’s innovative IR-ex protective eyewear technology provides reliable protection and guarantees optimal vision. uvex is the first company to offer infrared eye protection with a grey tint according to EN 171 – for improved safety at the workplace.

Optimum colour recognition

uvex IR-ex protects the eyes. Intense infrared radiation is present in many workplaces, from the metal, steel, ceramics and glass industries, to sectors in which artificial IR emitters are used for hardening and drying, for example. To provide effective protection for the sensitive human eye in every situation, uvex has developed the innovative IR-ex technology for safety spectacles. This offers reliable infrared protection according to EN 171 in combination with unimpaired vision. Thanks to the grey-tinted lens that uvex uses in its infrared safety glasses – the first company to do so – coloured signal or warning lights can always be optimally recognised: a definite plus for health and safety at work.

Innovative multi-protection eyewear

uvex now provides its new infrared protection for the sporty uvex pheos cx2 glasses as well as the uvex super f OTG spectacles, which can be worn comfortably over normal glasses. uvex IR-ex occupational safety glasses are available with the levels of protection 1.7/3/5. Their high light transmission in the visible range combined with 100% UV400 protection make their performance truly impressive. The proven uvex supravision lens coating protects the inside of the spectacles against fogging and makes their outside particularly scratch-resistant. Thanks to their mechanical resistance, which has also been tested at extremely high temperatures, uvex IR-ex safety spectacles offer the best possible mechanical protection in very warm working conditions.

Suitable for use in many sectors

Thanks to the exceptional characteristics of the protection and vision they offer, the uvex IR-ex safety spectacles are suitable for use in a wide range of industries, for example quality control for incandescent objects or in situations where artificial IR emitters are used for hardening and drying. They can also be used as welding safety spectacles in accordance with EN 169. Their attractive price point and long service life mean the uvex IR-ex safety spectacles are also a great economical choice.
