The sustainable FFP3 respirator uvex silv-Air 2310 planet

Fuerth – Combining protection with sustainability, the new FFP3 respirator uvex silv-Air 2310 planet is made mostly from recycled components. This respirator’s cleverly designed features protect the user while ensuring a comfortable fit.

What do washing machines have to do with respirators? Well, they now have at least one thing in common, as the headband attachments for the uvex silv-Air 2310 planet are made from 100 percent recycled PP from washing machine tubs and other household appliance parts, for example.

These aren’t the only components of the new FFP3 mask from the German PPE manufacturing company that contain recycled materials. The valve of the uvex silv-Air 2310 planet is made from 95 percent recycled ABS, which is taken from car components, and the product as a whole consists of 26 percent recycled materials. However, the valve isn’t just sustainably produced, it also reduces the breathing resistance and helps to prevent any build-up of heat and moisture inside the mask.

To complete the sustainable overall design, the masks are packaged in plastic bags made from 30 percent recycled materials, meaning that this product can be included in uvex’s protecting planet range. This is a collection of products that have recyclability built into their design and that use bio-based materials, for instance.

It’s not just the environmentally friendly components of the uvex silv-Air 2310 planet that are impressive, however: this respirator also fits reliably close to the wearer’s face thanks to a very soft all-round sealing lip. The nose clip can be flexibly adjusted and also ensures a secure fit, including for anyone who needs to protect themselves against toxic or harmful dusts and aerosols or who works with carcinogenic materials and pathogens such as viruses, bacteria and spores.

The uvex safety group will present both collections at their booth at the A+A trade fair 2023 in Duesseldorf, along with several other new products.
